A ferry is a facility by which truckers may get across seas. Truckers can use ferries by driving trucks to seaports, shown on the map as , paying the transport fee, wait for the vessel's arrival and then resume driving.
They were introduced in Euro Truck Simulator Gold Edition, with a small port consisting of a Rest Stop. The ferry line deserved Dover, and Calais, , as the only way of transportation between United Kingdom and mainland Europe, where Euro Lines is the principal ferry service provider.
The map DLCs have since added new ports that are more realistic as the player is required to cross the harbor to reach the ferry.
Euro Truck Simulator 2: Scandinavia most notably came with multiple ports to travel through the region. Norway is the only country which all its 4 featured cities have ferry links.
Prior to the release of the Scandinavia DLC, all ferries were based off of a generic ferry boat design. However, upon that, the ferries have been based off of Color Line'sSuperspeed class of ships.
